Wowed By Medium Writing Features
I had no clue about many these amazing Medium writing features!
I knew about creating lists. Really, I never tried it.
- It is not too hard.
- Just make a hyphen and type, then press enter.
- Also numbers work.
- Just type the first number, add your words and then hit enter.
In addition to hyper-linking a story, I didn’t know you could also embed it! (Simply paste the link and press enter).
You can also do this for outside articles. Take the below article about a scientific idea that should be more widely known.
Or you can do the same for videos! One of my favorite Youtube videos is below.
I knew about the drop caps feature. It comes in handy.
I was also aware of the two types of quotes.

Wow, I was not aware of the word count function! After I type this sentence I will be at 202 words!
Hey, one thing the tips and tricks article doesn’t mention is the option to add Unsplash photos. I have learned to love this feature also.
Just click on the + icon when you start a new paragraph, and the second item to the right is “add an image from unsplash.”
Perform a keyword search of the image you like, then type enter for a collection of images to show.
You may have to scroll down to find the image you like, or browse through multiple pages. Soon, an appealing image that stacks well with your piece will appear.
