Sadly we have all have bad days(and sometimes whole strings of bad days or tough months). But I love these strategies you suggest!
One method I find to avoid stressful build-ups and bad days reoccuring over time is just extra self-care. Do things often for yourself--finding rebalance and personal growth. Take a day off to sleep in or go on a special day trip. Take up a new hobby, past time, or volunteer role. Cross items off of your life-list. If you take care of yourself, you are more ready to commit to helping and serving others.
