This amazing article describes how the writer reached their first million dollars on Medium.
That is a ma ma million! And you can get there too!
Except the article wasn’t true.
As I read this alluring article, I was actually trying to process the claims. Like “what is the deeper catch here?” “Did this writer have some secret article that someone offered him a million for full publishing rights?” “Is he talking about other platforms that supplement his Medium income?” At the end of the day, my mind was not fast enough to catch on to the comedic sarcasm.
There are people who make millions from their writing — whether through online and social media platforms, traditional writing methods, or the mixing of writing with other paths to fame and fortune. Wow, all of those writers who even make hundreds of millions or billions from the amazing craft! Kudos to the likes of J.K. Rowling, James Patterson, or Stephen King who are all on the list!
Now, to those who dare to share their writing online or in print and have found a knack for making any level of green(usually a lot less than millions though some do make it big in tens or hundreds of thousands), extra kudos to you. And to all of those writers who press hard with little or no green at all, extra kudos as well! Keep with it all writers, green-gathering and hobbyist alike! There are countless priceless riches to be gathered from this amazing craft, but a little or a lot of green also brings a little extra charm!
