Medium Publications Still Big Thing
Gareth Willey explores some wonderful Medium publications here. Many commendations to Willey for sharing such a great list. And it is only a fraction of the top active publications! Even though Medium publications have changed over the years (and numerous publications seem to have taken the form of antiquated and abandoned buildings) they are still a big thing. Medium publications are an amazing way for readers to expand their horizons and find some of the best content anywhere. Also, they are a top-ranking platform for writers to reach audiences, build up their writing name and brand, and improve the craft.
But one thing I realized recently — where is the feed of suggested Medium publications to follow? It used to right there with recommended topics and writers. They must have done away with this feature. Perhaps they replaced it with the lists feature. I love the list building — both the fact of being able to bookmark top articles and having the option to make one’s lists public. For any melancholy related to the phasing out recommended publications, there is still the publications link under profile. There, you can add new publications plus easily find publications for which you are a writer or follower. Also, many amazing directories like this one exist.
To any distressed Medium readers and writers, have no fear! Medium publications are still a happening thing! And for the future, publications will likely be here to stay. As long as writers like to build a certain collection around a niche or specialized topic, and as long as readers love to zoom in to a programmed stream of regular content, we can look forward to the opportunity to continue perusing through countless Medium journals.
