I don't know how many times my wife has kissed me on the cheek in a public place or we have held hands like when walking in the mall or at the park.

If the restaurant owner does not want family or loved ones to show an affectionate kiss, there should be a very clear sign just like there is for "no shirt, no shoes, no service," "no smoking," and "gratitutes not included." That's just my view.

I hope you and all of your friends can find more welcoming places in the future. (Maybe you could share the name of restaurant and location and we could all go leave a negative online review).
