Have you seen ads like these on Instagram, Facebook, and others?

Are you kidding me? Is this not a scam? Should these ads be reported? What is Bingo Tour anyway?

Well, according to this article from Finance Buzz, Bingo Tour is just one of many legitimate online gaming apps out there available at your preferred app store!

But wait a minute? Should you cut back hours at your day job or possibly stop your additional gigs to start playing these gaming apps for cash?

Before you do so, here are some caveats to remember.

The article does state you have to be 18 for the particular Bingo Tour App. Also, in many states it is not legal to gamble online, so check your state’s laws before you try to download anything(the app will give plenty of notices. Additionally, beware that many of the tournaments and special plays offer you a chance to BUY extra play tokens. Hence, these apps are just like going to the casino and paying real money to try to beat lady luck. If you consider that a profession, that is your special blend of tea. Please remember that gambling can be a real and serious addiction or condition. If you are experiencing problems with gambling, please don’t hesitate to reach out to resources and organizations available to you. (These are available depending on your location, but in the U.S. many are available like this national helpline).

It’s not that you should not give these gaming apps a whirl if you want to have a little fun or try to test your luck. But beware of the red cones while driving down these streets. You don’t have all lanes open, and in fact some cones may be blocking off deep ditches. Remember that far from what the ads may claim, unless you have a magic swiping finger these apps do not guarantee high revenue streams.

There are other more legitimate money making opportunities where you can have fun with gaming or some related activities. A little work may be thrown in there too.

The sky is the limit for various online platforms and apps that will allow you to earn extra money without all of the extra baggage. Sites like Swagbucks or Inbox Dollars pay you dividends for surveys, visiting and signing up for promotional sites and memberships, or even to play many games not parallel to gambling sites. But if you are going to invest all that energy into playing games, you may find that question emerging in the back of your mind. Are there not better ways to spend your time? And there are indeed countless other opportunities out there, from ridesharing and delivery app drivers to online writing like this amazing platform.

But games can be a fund pasttime as well (within proper balance, of course).

Again, it isn’t that you should not try out these games at all. So many of them are fun, enthralling, and even mentally challenging(those card games require strong mental acuity and full attention, for instance). And like other legitimate activities, they are whole worlds in themselves that offer enrichment. Of course, it is all about proper balance, care, and critical assessment. Give extra caution to ads like those I have come across on social media. In reality $10,000 may be more like 10,000 game coins that add up to $10 in actual money. Not enough to even cover the utility bill, and actually the amount you should make after a couple of Doordash or UberEats deliveries.
