As you probably know by reading my work, I would certainly fall in the camp of romantics who espouse the world of writing is open to anyone and it is a journey all can partake.

But certainly, the craft cannot and really should not be forced on anyone. Some may find other art forms or crafts to be their more genuine calling and that is fine--which actually can make writing more dynamic and vibrant among countless other crafts.
